Key Responsibilities

Clean and maintain designated areas, including patient rooms, support areas, hallways, offices, and public spaces.
Sanitize floors, surfaces, windows, furniture, and equipment according to established protocols.

Provide housekeeping support to patients, visitors, and staff.
Distribute clean linen and maintain linen supplies.
Ensure a clean and safe environment, adhering to cleanliness standards and availability of necessary supplies.
Properly dispose of trash and handle soiled linen.
Requirements

Minimum Education: Grade 10 to Grade 12 (Matric)

Qualifications and Skills

General Cleaning Skills:

Perform general housekeeping tasks such as cleaning rooms, hallways, offices, and public areas.
Empty trash, change linens, and make beds.

Operate vacuum cleaners and floor waxing equipment.
Hospital Safety and Sanitation:

Follow specialized cleaning protocols designed for hospital environments.
Handle equipment and chemicals safely and adhere to hospital procedures.
Maintain attention to detail to ensure a clean and safe environment that promotes patient healing.
Report safety concerns promptly to supervisors.
Cleaning and Organizational Abilities:

Demonstrate strong organizational skills to prioritize and complete tasks efficiently.

Maintain proper storage of cleaning equipment and supplies.
Ensure cleanliness and orderliness of storage closets.
Physical Demands of a Hospital Cleaner:

Possess the flexibility to kneel, crawl, stoop, and bend.
Exhibit manual dexterity to handle cleaning tools and open containers.
Lift up to 30 pounds and maintain good vision for task execution.
Interpersonal and Communication Skills:
