Livestock Manager (Beef / Sheep)

Introduction
An established mixed farming operation requires a Livestock Manager.

Duties & Responsibilities
The Livestock Manager will be mainly responsible for overseeing a herd of 250 commercial beef cows and 200 dorper sheep. In addition the farm has a dairy with 500 cows on a pasture based system, maize and 300ha timber.

The Livestock Manager will be responsible for:

• All aspects of management of the cattle & sheep.

• General farm work including but not limited to; fencing, firebreaks, basic implement maintenance etc.

• Alternate weekend duty in the dairy which will include AI in breeding season.

Desired Experience & Qualification
In order to be considered applicants must have: Relevant experience in managing commercial livestock. Experience with AI. Ability to work independently & unsupervised. Ability to manage farm staff & casual labour.

Package & Remuneration
Salary will be negotiable depending on experience. Accommodation and work vehicle provided on the farm.
