About the Role

The Retail Media Growth Manager will be responsible for managing relationships with key retail and Marketplace clients while developing advertising strategies that support long-term business growth.

Working closely with Buyers, Account Managers, Marketing teams, and Retail Media specialists, you’ll help clients increase product visibility across the Takealot platform by creating data-driven advertising plans that align with their business objectives.

Your role will involve analysing sales performance, monitoring advertising effectiveness, identifying revenue opportunities, and ensuring campaigns deliver measurable business results.

This position requires someone who can confidently combine commercial thinking, campaign management, relationship building, and analytical decision-making to deliver outstanding outcomes for clients.


Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for a variety of strategic and operational duties, including:

  • Building strong relationships with Buyers, Marketplace Account Managers, and key brand partners.
  • Developing a deep understanding of each client’s business goals, sales performance, and long-term growth objectives.
  • Analysing Gross Merchandise Value (GMV) trends and identifying opportunities to improve commercial performance.
  • Reviewing product availability, inventory levels, and category performance to support advertising recommendations.
  • Evaluating organic search visibility, category positioning, and competitor performance.
  • Creating comprehensive Retail Media business plans tailored to each client’s objectives.
  • Designing advertising strategies based on detailed sales analysis and category performance.
  • Adjusting campaign recommendations according to brand positioning, seasonal trends, promotional periods, and marketing calendars.
  • Managing the advertising growth strategy for a portfolio of high-value retail and Marketplace clients.
