Forwarding Controller

Introduction
A well-established Freight / Logistics Company based in Durban is looking for a Forwarding Controller

Minimum Requirements

Matric
Minimum 2 years operational experience in freight forwarding
Minimum 2 years customer relationship experience – ESSENTIAL
Own transport required
Computer Experience

Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, Outlook
Compu-clear experience
Cargowise experience

Responsibilities

Co-ordination of the freight forwarding process for Sea imports
Capturing of all indents into the company’s internal freight management system and updating the progress as new information becomes available
Ensure that internal and external customers are kept up to date of the status of their shipments
Make decisions on which service providers to use in the transport of goods by ascertaining the benefits for the clients as well as meeting the company’s internal requirements
Ensuring that the documentation flow deadlines are adhered to
Manage all documentation, communication and status flow for nominated clients
Ensure that the correct rates are applied for specific clients
Handle customer queries
Co-operate with and ensure close communication with Key Account Managers and
Operational Manager relative to customer’s requirements and systems
Report to Operational Manager
